Derby

Connect Roads Derby was awarded the contract to design, finance, provide and maintain the street lighting and highway signs in the City of Derby for 25 years.

The scheme allows for the replacement of 20,100 existing columns and 3,200 illuminates signs during the first five years of the project, and the ongoing maintenance of a total stock of 27,600 columns plus the 3,200 signs and columns.

The programme for replacing lighting columns during the first five years will be based on the areas of greatest need rather than on a ward-by-ward basis, but the programme will be flexible enough to allow for "out of programme" construction in the need arises.
